Lil' bit o' Snow!

This is the front yard as of this past weekend. Yep...we got a little bit of snow out there. As stated in the previous post, I'm on mids right now, so it's not as if I've had the chance to get out there and enjoy it on the snowmobiles. But fear not, as you can tell, it should be here for a while.

The Latest

Captains Log:  Tuesday, February 21st, 12:39 AM.  (You a trekkie?).

Where: At Work.  Why: Only God knows.  Who:  Working with JB.  What: Current song on is Avril Lavine, "Complicated".

We're listening to the "Radical Crazy Super Mix" which is basically a disk of over 6 hours of MP3's I burnt off my PC at home.  It's really kinda funny...because you might go from an ear bleeding Audioslave tune, to "Annie's Song" by John Denver.  Oh, come on...don't laugh.  Sing along with me, "You fill up my senses...Like a night in the forest, Like the mountains in spring time, Like a walk in the rain"  (That's beautiful).

Case in point...Now playing: Zeppelin, "Going to California" live.

Anyhow...it's been a pretty busy week.  Tonight (Monday night) was curling.  We lost : (  We are tied for second with only 1 point separating 1st from 3rd places.  Yep...it's any body's league.  The top two teams from each night go to the play downs.  We need to do some winnin'.  At any rate, that is all mentioned to say that I came to work right from the curling club.  I'm exhausted and it's going to be a long night.  Pretty cool all the hub-bub surrounding curling with the Olympics going on.  I bet our membership will go up next year!

Now Playing:  Dave Mathews remake of "Long Black Veil" live.

Deb got another job!  Yep...cracking the whip on the ol' girl!  Actually, this is an opportunity we've been looking for.  Our very close friend in Ohio, Tim, handles the administration and support for a website, and he has added Deb on to help.  So she's working from home a couple hours here and there, when ever she wants!  How cool is that!?!?  Working in the PJ's!  Yeah, so that's pretty big...pretty cool.  Shoot...hold on, my nose is bleeding (how's that for real time blogging).  So all of this has forced us into the modern world of high speed internet.  I hate Charter, they're so expensive...but there's no way she'd have been able to make any money connecting at 53000 bps with dial up.

Now Playing:  Rainbow, "Stone Cold"...how long since you've hear that song.

Bethany and Sara are doing good.  Bethany spilled the beans on a secret tonight...she informed us that she was going to marry Deyaun.  (This is a boy in her school).  Of course she said that Deyaun was going to marry Desiree too.  I guess that's fine...she'll have someone to help clean...do the dishes, etc.  THAT of course was a JOKE...chill out people.  (Though her mom has told me we could do the whole polygamy thing if it meant getting help with the dishes and laundry).  Hey, the early Christians pooled all their resources, shared everything and lived together.  But I don't think that whole "sharing" thing included spouses.  Anyhow...all of this is extremely good news for Deb, because Deyaun's family is involved with one of the two Chinese restaurants in town, and Deb thinks that spells out free Beef with Broccoli.  Always looking for the angle, that one.

Now Playing:  Pat Benetar, "We Belong".

So my mids are over this Thursday morning, and I get a long weekend.  I'm curling in our international Bonspiel at the club.  Should be lot's of fun.  Several teams come from Canada, a couple from Detroit, a couple from Midland.  I think we have a chance of doing pretty good...I like the team I'm on.

For those thinking these are pretty short paragraphs to be written through a whole song, you must remember that I am also working...performing tasks in the office so interferes with my slacking.  "You see Bob, it's not that I'm lazy...it's that I just don't care."  (Peter Gibbons, "Office Space")

Now Playing:  No Doubt, "Hella Good"...Gwen's hot (though it should be said that I prefer the Tragic Kingdom stuff).  Hold on...gotta do some work...

OK People, so the frozen pizza is in the toaster oven...literally...that's not like a euphemism or anything.  It's almost time to eat lunch, so I'm going to call that good for tonight.  So all two if you have a great day, and we'll be talking to you soon!  I leave you at 2:02 AM...with a Hootie and the Blowfish's live version of "Let her Cry" complete with string accompaniment.

K~

P.S.  Now coming on...Foreigner, "I want to know what Love is"  (How sweet...maybe John will dance with me).

2:14 AM: Edited for some typos...Audioslave, "Light my Way" (Told ya')

Thought for the Day

The Following is most assuredly True:  Generalizations show ignorance; You should judge no man on appearance or presupposed position; This world is not Black & White, but an enormous array of gray; A litmus test will most assuredly not give you a complete and accurate assessment of people.

However...I'm pretty sure you can discredit (and completely ignore) the character and judgment of a person who has a problem with a list of rules that includes (among other things):  "Listen to your Mom & Dad, Do Not Murder, Do Not Steal, Do Not Lie, Don't have sex with someone else's spouse and Don't be jealous of someone else's stuff.".

Response to Jody!

The below was in response to a comment on the previous post...but as it indicates...I long to break this writers block. I'll take what ever I can get to qualify for a post these days. (Plus it was getting a little long for the "comments" section).

**********************************

Sorry Jody, I can't help it. I've always wanted to be the shallow, "I don't give a rip" guy...but it's just not in my DNA.

It's almost a bit of an "albatross"...if you've seen some past posts, I'm a little burnt out on politics...but have been going through a looooooong stretch of writers block. It's always easy to revert back to current events that stick in my craw.

Anyhooo...If you're ever bored (Bored...yeah, right. Doesn't a mother with 4 long to get "bored") check out some of my older archives. It use to flow easily with the occasional political rant...now it's the opposite.

When I was in Kentucky, I wrote a little on-line column (on my own website...so it wasn't like "Syndicated" or anything) called "The HillBilly Times". It was mainly updates on our adventures in Appalachia, with the occasional heavy pontification. It seemed to come rather easy then. It seemed like I had more time then...but I don't think that's necessarily true. Plus, you are the LAST person I would ever complain about "not having enough time" around. I was also a lot better with correspondence then, e-mails, etc.

I don't know what it is. It's like a kind of "funk" comes over me when I open a word processing window, or the Blog GUI.

Blank...blah. I got nothing.

The people that read my little on-line article and updates were telling me (like you), "You should write a book", "Man, you gotta lot of stuff here...ever think about publishing?"...etc.etc. I even had an english teacher tell me I was in the wrong business (meaning meteorology).

But after I was here about a year, "the wall" popped out of nowhere and remains to this day. I don't blame "here"...I LOVE "here". You know what? That might be it! I used to "write to escape". Now, I love where I am...and am really enjoying life. Maybe that's it...I don't want to escape. Maybe?

That would be weird though...Situational Happiness NOT being an inspiration? Who knows.

At any rate...I gotta go. We miss you guys too!
God Bless,
K~

A Post for Marcus

Hey Mark! I think I might have found an answer to that whole "What's up with NFL football" post you had.

Invent-o-controversy

Skim this article real quick.

Does this really bother anybody? I smell a little suspicion that this would be viewed as slightly akin to the whole muslim-offense-to-cartoon-gate. But ummm...no.

Big deal...I think it would be kinda cool. I feel every race/group/etc. should feel personally close enough to (the real literal new testement) Jesus to portray his image as something their comfortable with...no big sin there.

I mean...the fact of the matter (that shouldn't be forgotten) is that Jesus was a Middle Eastern Jew. He certainly WAS NOT the "Fair Skinned Blue-Eyed Honkie" that popular western culture has portrayed Him to be for the last 1800 years.

So when this guy says:

"It's more likely that Jesus was black than it was that Jesus was European,"

It's very true...in the epiduris-color of your skin sense. Closer to the truth? Jesus probably looked (in physical appearance only) a lot more like Usama Bin Laden then 99% of todays christians would be comfortable with. (That was sure to raise a few neck hairs...but deal with it).

Anyhoo...wish me luck. Big curling night tonight.

Cheers,
K~

Edited to add: I guess it should be said (in case this is the first post of mine you've ever read) I am a "Bought and Paid For" Born-again Evangelical Christian (and a neo-con too)...Just didn't want to get too many "Right-ons" from Elitest, secular lefty's.

I really mean it...I'm done with this!

Seriously...what are they complaining about? 1. This IS the legacy they have made for themselves...and 2. How do they even know this is Mohammed? It could be any Islamofascist...Those people all look the same to me.

(Yes...that was intentionally insensitive...apparently I'm looking to get beheaded).

The ComicWar

The Mudville Gazzette has the best summary and narrative about the whole ruckus. My Gawd...how stupid has this world gotten. This whole (non)situation doesn't even deserve a rant from me. I'll say only this about the entire false heathen religion that is Islam:

What ideology would appear to be more in line with the God of Love? The one that says, if struck on one cheek to turn the other...to rejoice when persecuted...to pray for your enemy. Or the one that burns buildings, threatens death and wrecks global havoc when someone teases them.

Nah...no one has ever teased, made fun or blasphemed Jesus. (Remember the whole 'Piss Christ' fiasco?)...Geesh...I'm done with this topic...I'm starting to perspire.

These clowns...Do they even know what their signs say? It's obvious they were all written by the same hand and probably passed out to an unthinking, illiterate mob.

Pathetic Cretins.

OK...I'm done.

I'm Back!

I think I'm back...Am I back?

I've been ill people. Yeah, yeah, I know...poooooor baby boy; blah, blah blah. It's been a drag...started last Tuesday. I actually called in sick to work for three days in a row...then punched out early on Saturday. This is not like me. Deb says she can only remember me calling in sick, maybe 2 or 3 times since we've been married (over 10 years). It might be 4 times in the last 15 years. Anyhoo...

IT'S SNOWIN'!!! I mean REALLY snowing for a change. I couldn't make it into the office in my car this morning, so I went back home and got on the snowmobile and rode into work. It would have been more fun had I still not felt like crap. This winter has been such a drag...3 to 4 inches here and there for the last two months. Snowmobiling has been the pits...Thanks GOD for Curling! Which is going well by the way - Thanks for asking. Put it this way...we're tied for 2nd in the Monday night league with only 1.5 games seperating last place and first place. It's all bunched up, eh? I love curling.

Not much more going on here. Deb has been a trooper...taking care of me (read "Babying") over the past few days, as well as balancing the girls, and whole household on her head.

I guess I'll get onto other stuff...I am still having some of those crappy feelings mentioned several posts ago...I'm so sick of everything, (Politics, Islamofascists, Media morons) I don't feel like writing at all. Unlike ol' Marcus The Bronco...who's going nuts on the blog. Hey Mark (if you're still reading this dribble) why don't I have a link on your blog? I shamlessly plug you on a regular basis...I get no link...no plug...whatthe? Well...Whattaya' 'spect from a homo.

Later,
K~
